so far ive done one commercial. I just got started in this business and i will tell you that you need to start somewhere and a way to start is by getting theatre experience. Audition for community theatre, local theatres in your area. that is acting experience you can put on your resume and you dont need an agent to audition for them. An agent is just the easier way of getting auditions that you can't find on your own for tv,film, and commercials. they represent you and your most likely to get hired through an agent. but before getting one you will need to have acting classes on your resume and a few credits to get you started. Theatre is a great way to start. Like i'm doing high school plays in my high school and that's what i put on my resume. Its experience. you need experience because most agents take actors that already have credits and thats been in the industry for quite a while, they want actors who book. thats how they make their money. when the actors book jobs, they get a commission from that.And casting directors want actors that have credits and have good training and take good direction and that are easy to work with on an actual set.

But there are agents out there that take on new talent, who knows. But still get some experience to be on the safe side. you can find legitimate agents on sag.org , make sure they are affiliated with sag because those agents need to follow the rules and regulations. when you go there, look up agents in your area.
