How's My Acting

OK, so of course in this website they're lots of people who want to become an actor, and they say "oh when i grow up i'm gonna become a really famous actor." That doesn't bother me, but the part that does bother me is when you ask them questions like "Do you have an agency", "Where do you take acting classes", "Have you ever auditioned", "Have you ever done any acting" they never know how to respond to the questions, because they either don't know what and "agency" is or they've never "acted". How could you say you want to be a famous actor when you don't even know that "ACTING" is all about. I just don't like people like that! Because I mean you have other actors working they're butts off on getting they're experiences and looking for jobs while you have people who want to be "actors" just sitting on the couch eating chips! If you wan t to be an actor you have to be serious about it. Acting is a job just like any other. But for me acting is more than a job, is a way of living. I've been acting ever since i was 4 years old, and I absolutely love it ! If you agree with me comment :D

I agree with you Reynaldo. People have to realize this is a dog eat dog business. It's not easy. People think all you have to do is know how to act and you're set . Nooo, some people aree sooo confused about the entertainment business. You have to have the "look", the acting chops, you have to be welll trained and have expererience. I think its best for people to learn about the business before even trying to get into the business. Also take this business serious like any other job. Becoming an actor, you have to have training. Like have you ever heard of an untrained doctor or surgeon? would you let someone operate on you if they haven't been to like a school for that? most definatly not. They can kill you.

Same thing with acting if you are not committed and are not trained you can cost the production lots of money and they will refuse to hire you again for any project in the future. So i 100% agree with you Reynaldo.

And Svitlana, to be in this business you really need your parents to support you 100% because they are the ones signing the agency contract and since your a minor they will have to be on set with you at all times. This doesnt just apply to you, I'm referring to everyone whose parents arent willing to pay for acting classes or support them.
Exactly.... even if your taking a cheap acting class is still some experience that could go on your resume... i have an agency right now... Image Model and Talent Agency. They asked me for experience and i gave it to them... its always good to learn how to play an instrument, speak another language.. i speak english and spanish, and right now im learning french. And i am planning to start learning the piano... or the violin. So people who WANT to be an actor don't even know what a resume is... or a voucher, slate, go sees, or even a composite.

If you want to become an actor, even if you're planning to get into the business when you're older, you need to start learning about the bussines. Some people just think that Oh " I'm gonna take pictures, start acting and Yeah ! im gonna become famous" and it doesn't work like that.

Im also a model, but i dont like mixing modeling with acting. They're two very different things. You also need to know that you're positive that you want to be an actor and that you enjoy it. As i said before i've been acting since i was 4 years old... and i have alot on my resume... but still working on more...

Thanks !

Thats true Molli. I've been in love with acting ever since i was 5 years old. I've been doing school shows, community shows, I've been getting parts in plays we do in summer camps. Right now im taking acting classes. But in a month or two im gonna start taking acting classes with Marc Durso. Thanks god he's here in Miami. I auditioned for New World School of the Arts, and i got in. And for collegue i either going to L.A. or New York. I've been working mu butt off ever since i was a little boy. And they're some people who just say "I want to be an Actor" but they never do anything, they dont know what slating is, or even a voucher. They should educate themselves with the bussines before trying to be in it. And thats how i feel. I take acting very serious. If i could marry it, trust me, i would be single right now lol :D
lol you are right, and if anyone has heard of IF I CAN DREAM, that is one of the most messed up "Contests" i have ever seen. You have people who just decided they wanted to be on "TV" who are in the Top 10 or top 50 while you have others who actually have talent, and know the ins and outs of being an actor or actress not even close to being in the top 10 or 50.
right ! LOL ! people just need to make up their minds. Even if they can't pursue acting at this moment at least go on the internet and find information about acting. I get surprised because i ask some people question like do you have an agency? and they're like agency? im sorry what is that?... its like seriously? you dont know what that is? && it jst bothers me because, because i've been since i was 4 years old, and only 14 && i understand this industry well, im not saying i know it all, im just saying i know because i look, read, and i am in the bussiness :D
Molli,

You're right. I know that i'm the one whose going to succeed in the future. Thanks for your advice it really helped me. As matter of a fact i was going to ask you a question. Do you know John Homa? in person. Its because i was watching the show "Scream Qqueens 2" and he's the acting coach they're. He's really good, and i just thought that you knew him.
Oh ok thanks :D I just thought you would have known him.

Reynaldo
I can see your point, but at the same time you should feel confident knowing that you're way ahead of these people on the depth chart. If their resume is blank and they have no experience they're not competition for you. To draw a parallel, I've been in social media for quite awhile and with the boom in online networking it's amazing the people that come out of the woodwork claiming to be experts. It can bother you, but at the same time you just have to realize that they've got a short shelf life. if you've got talent and you've got the passion you shouldn't concern yourself with the wannabe's! It's an industry for many a day dreamer, but one that you'll only succeed in with perseverance.

Best,

Well.... There are people with verrry big personalities.... and great looks and even natural ability who would never ever Ever have the guts to show up at an audition or approach an agent or even take a course... or any of it. I've had friends like that. They'll ask how a person finds out about acting gigs or auditions and offer them my agent's contact info and that's the end of it. They see the fun They see the glamour. Hey- It doesn't make them BAD. It just means more work and opportunity for the rest of us.
